D006 - Omat Ghar - Paranoia EP | Release: Jan 29, 2010

D006 sees the debut solo release of Mayan minimal mastermind Omat Ghar. Known for his collaboration with Diego Romero (Romero D) on ITM, Omat Ghar sets a high standard straight off the bat with Cuales Son Las Bayas and Sugar Paranoia. Cuales Son Las Bayas is the slightly more driving of the two, deep pounding lows alternate precisely in unison with soft melodic touches, slowly building into the full arrangement through delicately balanced hats, whispery vocal touches & some deep sea growlyness late in the piece.

Sugar Paranoia smacks of minimalist sonar ping pong deepness. Emphasis on the lows makes this one deceptively heavy with hints of the fongo (for those in the know). Another slow building thudder, wobbly bass elements offset with kettle drum flavored touches top off another solid foray into the minimal depths of Omat Ghar.
